Library Cards:
All Wisconsin Residents are eligible for a free library card, which allows patrons to check out library materials. Obtaining a library card is easy: All you need is a Wisconsin photo ID and proof of address (like a utility bill or rental agreement with your name and address on it). Children enrolled in New Lisbon Elementary school, pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, are automatically signed up for library privileges with a parent’s permission and signature at the beginning of each school year.
Interlibrary Loans through the Winding Rivers Library System:
There are over 30 Libraries in the Winding Rivers Library System, and patrons can make requests from any of them. You can search for and request items from the comfort of your own home. All you need is your library card barcode, your pin number, and Internet access.
1. Find “Search the WRLSWEB Catalog” on the right side of the library’s home page.
2. Enter a title, author, or subject. Click on “Submit”.
3. Search through the results. Click on items of interest to learn more about them.
4. Click on “Request Item”. Enter your barcode and pin number (last 4 digits of your phone number). Follow prompts to finish making request.
Requested items are delivered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. When the items come in to our library we will contact you and let you know. If you would like help requesting items, we will be happy to help you!
Extended Search through WISCAT:
If you do not find the item you are looking for in our library system, the librarians are happy to help you extend your search to other libraries in Wisconsin and beyond. Please contact the library (608-562-3213) for assistance.
Computers:
We have nine computers available for patron use. WiFi is always available! Children under the age of 18 must have a permission slip signed before they are allowed to use computers. Patrons are allowed 1 hour time slots for computer use; however, if no one is waiting, their usage time may be extended. Black and white printouts are 15 cents per page, and color printouts are 25 cents.
Fax Machine:
We have a fax machine available for outgoing faxes ($1.00 per page) or incoming faxes ($1.00 per page).
Copy Machine:
Black and white copies cost 15 cents per page, and color copies are 25 cents per page.
Scanner:
The library offers two scanners, one flatbed scanner for patron use, and one multi-page scanner that can send documents directly to an email address, which a librarian can assist you with.
Visual Magnifier:
In order to offer assistance to those who are visually impaired, we have a visual magnifier available.
